Since 1668, our village of Arlay has been home to the Counts of Chalon-Arlay, who
were for a long time, richer than the kings of France, due to the exploitation of
salt mines and vineyards in the Jura.
This long history has left its mark in the form of a rich architectural heritage.
We have produced a small guide which shows you around the various parts of the village,
including detailed explanations.
